"Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am alone and afflicted. The distresses of my heart increase; bring me out of my sufferings. Consider my affliction and trouble, and take away all my sins." Psalm 25:16-18
Sometimes all we can do is cry out to God for grace and mercy. That is exactly what the Psalmist is doing here. There are many times when we simply don't have any solutions on our own. We are in a position of complete dependence on Him. His grace--giving us what we don't deserve--and His mercy--not giving us what we do deserve--is our only hope.
Truthfully, we shouldn't be surprised if we can't handle things on our own. We're not supposed to be able to. GOD WANTS US TO LEARN TO TRUST HIM.
John R.W. Stott said: "Grace is love that cares and stoops and rescues."
I'm glad I've got a God that rescues on wings of Grace and Mercy. How about you?
That's Good News!
